How much does a notarization cost?

No, a mobile notary public does not notarize documents with photographs or copies of documents such as academic records, birth certificates, or any other document that does not have a place for a person to sign. However, if the photograph or academic record is attached to a certification statement, a mobile notary public may notarize documents that contain a certification statement. The document must also contain an original signature (not a photocopy) in order to notarize documents.
May a Mobile Notary Public give legal advice or tell you which document to use?
Absolutely not. CA State Law forbids a Mobile Notary Public from acting as a legal advisor and cannot give legal advice unless he or she is also an attorney. The Secretary of State can fine and/or jailed for the unauthorized practice of law.
Does notarization mean that a document is “true” or “legal”?
No. A Mobile Notary Public is not responsible for the accuracy or legality of documents in order to notarize documents. A Mobile Notary Public can only certify the identity of signers. The signers are responsible for the content of the notarized documents.
Do I have to appear personally before the Notary Public to notarize documents?
Yes. You should personally appear before a Mobile Notary Public at the time of notarization. To notarize documents. However, if you have a “Subscribing Witness,” the “Subscribing Witness” must witness the signing of the document and the Mobile Notary Public person must now the Subscribing Witness.
Can you notarize documents that contain blanks?
No. A mobile notary public cannot notarize documents that are incomplete, contains blanks, or is back dated. 
Does California allow Electronic Signatures?
No
Can I notarize a document over the phone?
